Invisalign® uses a series of custom-made, virtually invisible plastic aligners to gradually move your teeth into their correct position. Each aligner is worn for one to two weeks, 22 hours a day, and swapped for the next in the sequence. You take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss — so daily life and oral hygiene look the same as they did before. Royale Dental serves Invisalign® patients across Hialeah and Miami-Dade in English and Spanish, with a free consultation and 3D smile preview before you commit.
What Invisalign® can fix
- Crowding and overlapping teeth
- Spacing and gaps
- Mild to moderate overbite, underbite, or crossbite
- Mild to moderate anterior open bite (skeletal open bites or those greater than 4mm typically require braces or a surgical approach — we assess this at the consultation)
- Relapse after past braces (very common — teeth shift over decades without retainers)
For complex bite issues — severe skeletal discrepancies, large rotations on multiple teeth, or impacted teeth — we’ll be honest if traditional braces or surgical orthodontics is the better tool. Invisalign® isn’t a fit for every case, and we’d rather refer than start something that won’t deliver the result you want. The full clinical comparison lives in Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces.
Who’s a good candidate
Invisalign® works best for patients who:
- Have all permanent teeth (typically age 12+)
- Have generally healthy gums and no active decay (we’ll address those first)
- Are committed to wearing the aligners 22 hours a day — this is non-negotiable. Consistent under-wear is the leading cause of extended treatment, additional refinement trays, and results that don’t match the digital plan
- Want a discreet option for work, social, or professional reasons
Adults make up the majority of Invisalign® patients today. Teens have a dedicated Invisalign® Teen® product with compliance indicators built in.
Not sure if your case qualifies? The free consultation includes a clinical exam and 3D scan — we’ll tell you straight whether Invisalign®, braces, or a combination is the right tool for your teeth.
How treatment works
-
Free consultation and 3D scan. We take photos and a digital iTero® scan of your teeth — no goopy impressions. The software previews the final result before you commit, so you see roughly what your smile will look like at the end of treatment.
-
Treatment plan and aligner fabrication. Once you approve the plan, the full series of custom aligners is fabricated and shipped. Most cases use 12–30 trays, sometimes more for longer treatments.
-
Bonding attachments (if needed). Small tooth-colored composite buttons are bonded to certain teeth to give the aligner grip for specific movements. Quick and typically comfortable — bonded with the same material used for tooth-colored fillings, and polished off cleanly at the end of treatment.
Some treatment plans also include interproximal reduction (IPR) — a small amount of enamel gently smoothed between teeth (typically 0.2–0.5mm per contact) to create space for movement without extractions. We review your plan before any tooth structure is touched.
-
Wear and switch. Wear each tray for the prescribed 1–2 weeks, 22 hours a day. Take them out only to eat, drink anything but water, and clean your teeth.
-
6–8 week check-ins. We verify progress, hand you the next batch of trays, and adjust if anything isn’t tracking the predicted movement. Refinement trays at the end are normal and included in most treatment plans.
-
Retainer. A custom Vivera® retainer locks in the result. Nightly wear long-term prevents relapse.
Benefits over traditional braces
- Discreet. The aligners are nearly invisible from speaking distance. If your plan includes tooth-colored attachments, they’re low-profile and match your tooth shade — but visible up close; the aligner covers them during wear.
- Removable. Eat what you want — no popcorn, gum, or sticky food restrictions.
- Better hygiene potential. Because the aligners are removable, you brush and floss normally — a significant advantage over fixed brackets, provided you clean your teeth before reinserting the trays.
- Fewer office visits. No monthly wire adjustments — usually 6–8 weeks between visits.
- No bracket emergencies. No broken brackets, poking wires, or wax-on-the-go.
- Predictable. The 3D plan shows the projected outcome before you commit.

Living with Invisalign®
A typical day: aligners go in after breakfast and brushing. You take them out to eat lunch or drink coffee, brush briefly, and put them back in. Same at dinner. The adjustment to talking and tray-handling takes about 48 hours. Most patients say they forget the trays are in by the end of the first week of each new tray. After Invisalign treatment, many patients consider professional whitening or porcelain veneers to refine shape and color now that alignment is set.
Cost and financing
Free consultation included — the 3D scan and written estimate are at the visit, no obligation.
Full Invisalign® treatment is $5,000 for teens and $5,665 for adults (financing from ~$99/mo) — that covers the 3D scan, every aligner tray you need from start to finish, all check-in visits, and the final result. The retainer that holds your new smile in place after treatment is $474. Smaller cases — minor corrections or aligning just the top or bottom teeth — are priced lower and quoted separately.
Most dental insurance plans include orthodontic benefits — often a $1,000–$2,500 lifetime maximum that applies to Invisalign® just as it would to braces. Bring your card and we’ll verify benefits in about 60 seconds.
Payment plans from around $99/mo through CareCredit and Alphaeon make the total manageable — Invisalign cost and financing in Hialeah walks through both options in detail. Orthodontic treatment is a one-time cost that lasts decades with retainer compliance — meaningfully different math than ongoing whitening or cosmetic refinements.
Patients come to our Hialeah office for clear aligner treatment from Doral, Miami Lakes, Coral Gables, and Westchester — bilingual care in English and Spanish throughout treatment.
Common questions
Frequently asked about Invisalign® Clear Aligners
-
How is Invisalign® different from braces?
Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable aligners instead of metal brackets and wires bonded to the teeth. They're nearly invisible from speaking distance, you remove them to eat and brush, and most patients prefer them for comfort, hygiene, and discretion. They handle most mild-to-moderate alignment cases — for severe bite problems or complex rotations, traditional braces or surgical orthodontics may be the better tool. -
How long does Invisalign® treatment take?
Most adult cases finish in 6–18 months, depending on how much movement is needed. You wear each aligner for 1–2 weeks before switching to the next in the series, 22 hours a day. We see you every 6–8 weeks to track progress and hand off the next batch of trays. Mild cases can finish in as little as six months; complex cases may run 18 months or more. -
Will I need to wear a retainer afterward?
Yes — like any orthodontic treatment, teeth want to drift back toward their original position. We provide a custom Vivera® retainer — full-time wear (22 hours/day) for the first 3–6 months, then nightly wear long-term. Consistent retention is the only way to protect the result. Skipping the retainer is the most common cause of relapse, and why many adults are back in aligners years after their original braces. -
Does Invisalign® hurt?
There's mild pressure and tenderness for the first 1–2 days of each new tray — the aligner is putting gentle force on the teeth, which is how they move. Most patients describe it as awareness rather than pain, and it fades within a couple of days. Switching to a new tray at bedtime makes the adjustment easier. There's no irritation from brackets or wires. -
Are Invisalign® attachments visible?
Many cases use small tooth-colored composite attachments bonded to certain teeth — they give the aligner extra grip for specific movements like rotations or extrusions. From speaking distance they're hard to see, especially with the aligner in. The attachments are removed and the tooth polished smooth at the end of treatment. -
Will people be able to tell I'm wearing aligners?
At speaking distance — no. The aligners are made from clear medical-grade plastic, and unless someone is very close and actively looking, they are not noticeable. The small tooth-colored attachments some cases require are also hard to spot with the aligner in. Most patients find coworkers, clients, and social contacts never notice during a full course of treatment. -
Are there any risks with Invisalign®?
Like all orthodontic treatment, Invisalign® involves applying controlled force to move teeth, which carries a small risk of root shortening (external apical root resorption). Evidence suggests this risk is comparable to or slightly lower than with traditional braces for equivalent movements — but it is not zero. We take pre-treatment X-rays to assess root length and discuss any individual risk factors at the consultation. -
How much does Invisalign® cost in Hialeah, FL?
At Royale Dental, full Invisalign® treatment is $5,000 for teens and $5,665 for adults. That includes the 3D scan, every aligner tray from start to finish, all check-in visits, and the final result. A Vivera® retainer after treatment is $474. Payment plans through CareCredit and Alphaeon start around $99/mo. The free consultation includes a written estimate — no obligation. -
Is Invisalign® covered by insurance?
Many dental insurance plans include an orthodontic benefit — typically a $1,000–$2,500 lifetime maximum — that applies to Invisalign® the same way it would to traditional braces. Bring your card and we'll verify your benefits in about 60 seconds. Note that the orthodontic benefit is a once-per-lifetime limit, separate from your annual dental maximum, and some plans have age cutoffs or waiting periods.
